Who manages the newsletter
Matteo Tesi (Tio Teo) manages the newsletter and is responsible for the personal data collected for this purpose. For information, withdrawal of consent or data requests: tioteochannel@gmail.com. This notice covers the newsletter and does not replace information about separate services such as travel consultations.
Content and consent
News about the Riviera Maya, Yucatán and Mexico; new Tio Teo videos; guides, the future Sargassum Bible, the planned Yucatán book, consultations and related editorial products. Subscribing is optional and becomes active as soon as you submit the form with the consent box checked; you do not need to click an email confirmation link. You may withdraw consent at any time. You do not need to subscribe to read the bulletin.
Data collected
Email, optional first name, language, signup placement and page, optional campaign attribution (UTM) and consent version. Do not submit sensitive information. To prevent abuse, we temporarily store HMAC keys derived from IP addresses (up to a 15-minute window) and email addresses (60 seconds); the anti-abuse table does not store raw IP addresses. Expired rows are removed on subsequent requests. Infrastructure providers may process technical information under their own notices.
Service providers
EmailOctopus provides list management, campaigns, unsubscribe and delivery error handling. Cloudflare and Sites provide hosting and the subscription endpoint. These providers process the information needed to provide the service. See the providers’ notices below for processing locations, subprocessors and safeguards for any international transfers.
Retention and unsubscribe
Subscription data is retained while you choose to receive the newsletter. You may withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in the emails or by contacting us. After you unsubscribe, only data needed to honour your choice and document consent may be retained within applicable limits.
Your rights
You may request access, correction or deletion, restriction of processing and portability where applicable, and withdraw consent. You may contact the competent data protection authority. To exercise your rights, email tioteochannel@gmail.com.
Measurement
If website analytics is already active, form events may include language, placement and page. The newsletter does not send your email or name as analytics parameters. EmailOctopus may record campaign opens and clicks using tracking technologies. The relevant settings and any required consent will follow applicable preferences and rules.
